Save your hands and discover the time-tested technique of cupping therapy to upgrade all your sessions! The therapeutic benefits of cupping include:

  • Reliving chronic pain, stiffness, or injuries in muscles and joints (as deep as 4 inches into the body!)
  • Enhancing immunity (or what Traditional Chinese Medicine calls “wei qi”)
  • Increasing circulation and lymphatic drainage, while removing stagnation
  • many, many more benefits listed below…*

In class we’ll discuss the Traditional Chinese Medical theory, balanced by a hands-on emphasis in the practice of cupping. Cupping can be utilized as a standalone treatment, be inserted into any session as an add-on, or be focalized for effective localized pain relief! Because many massage insurance providers do not cover the classic TCM cupping method using glass cups with a fire-lit, alcohol drenched cotton ball, we’ll be relying on pliable silicon cups. Bring in your own set of silicone cups or purchase your own by clicking here. Learning Objectives:

  • Be able to effectively utilize stationary and/or sliding cups
  • Practice effective joint relief protocols for the back, hips, shoulders, legs, and arms
  • Discover specific routines for improving the immune system, increase qi/energy, and release stagnation

As touch therapists, we’re familiar with the benefits of providing “positive pressure” to impact fascia. Cupping yields these same benefits, however reverses the direction of treatment by providing “negative pressure”.
